A Sense of AttachmentHans-Theo Thormaehlen feels a strong sense of attachment to the town’s high school,
Gymnasium an der Stadtmauer (09/22/2002),
To Foster and to PreserveThe foundation aims to foster the intellectual, physical and artistic talents and achievements of young people from the local area. It is intended in particular to provide financial support for high-performing, exemplary pupils who are actively involved in the life of the school in Bad Kreuznach. In addition, the foundation seeks to ensure that the fruits of the intellectual and artistic activities of the extended Thormaehlen family are collected, documented, preserved, and publicized. This includes the work of Prof. Dr. Ludwig Thormaehlen (art historian, sculptor, and patron of young artists); his aunt Alexe Altenkirch (artist, graphic designer and art teacher); his sisters, Bernhild Gieseler-Thormaehlen (dance teacher and choreographer), and Gunhild Friedman-Thormaehlen (artist and graphic designer); Hans-Theo’s eldest son Karsten,(communications designer and photographer) (09/22/2002) and niece Dara Friedman-Handforth (film director). To SupportThe foundation also supports artistic and cultural activities in the local area, fosters artists and works connected to this region between the Rhine and the Mosel, and aims to provide a financial basis for showcasing creativity.HTT-4/2002, Web Design: Frederik Thormaehlen |
